SHELL Exploration and National Iranian Oil Company (NIOC) have worked together to develop the Soroosh and Nowrooz fields in shallow waters, some 80 kilometers off Kharg Island in the Northern Persian Gulf in Iran.
The OTS is a YOKOGAWA CS3000 DCS Emulation. The OTS is designed to train operators on actual process behaviour and digital control system conception and on specific operations such as wells line-up to production trains, separation tests run, automatic start up of spare pumps, compressors operation (pressurized or depressurized start up shut down), etc. The application also allows the client to optimize the operation of the actual plant and anticipate upsets.
RSI SIMCON has been developed a DES and an OTS (emulation ABB PPB) for the Sable Offshore wellhead platforms and treatment facilities (Halifax - Canada) for DSME.
The project includes:
the Thebaud Process Platform, main wellhead platform and separation/treatment facilities located near Sable Island off the coast of Nova Scotia
3 satellite fields connected by pipelines to Thebaud Platform
a new Compression Platform that will be bridge connected to Thebaud Platform in order to increase recovery of hydrocarbons as the fields that feed Thebaud Platform decline
ROD DES has been built on behalf of BHP, AGIP & SONATRACH. GEIE SAIPEM and RSI SIMCON have performed the Engineering studies. The ROD complex includes five fields situated in the Berkine Basin region in eastern Algeria. Its proven gross reserves are estimated of around 300 million barrels oil equivalent.
The multiphase flow in the production lines up to central processing facilities are simulated by OLGA 2000 software.
The dynamic studies were performed to examine operational cases such as:
determine the flow regime in the flow lines and trunklines
confirm the adequacy of inlet receiver separator design and control system in response to slug flow
investigate the performance and operability of re-injection compressor control systems in response to flash gas compressor trips
