LNG Processing

Liquefaction of Natural Gas

RSI SIMCON is involved in natural gas liquefaction processes, with high-fidelity modeling of cold boxes and compression sections.

Compression studies

RSI SIMCON performs detailed engineering studies on compressors. For each compression train, studies focus on:

  • shutdown sequence
  • start-up sequence
  • emergency shut down validation
  • compressor hot-by pass requirement study
  • anti surge behavior
  • gas composition change effect on compressor behavior
  • compressor settle out pressure checking for piping class validation
  • cooling exchanger duty and process conditions variation around the compressor in case of large process changes (temperature and pressure range values checking)
  • Safety system checking - validation of alarm set points
  • depressurization study
  • compressor up loading and down loading behavior study

LNG carriers

  • LNGC cargo
  • ballast system
  • safety procedures for loading and unloading operations
  • gas management system
  • electric propulsion system
  • LNG re-liquefaction system
  • machinery room and inert gas plant with the complete control logic
