This simulation was used to validate the process design. The study mainly concentrated on the compressors.
The Main Cryogenic Heat Exchanger was simulated with the Indiss Multi Stream Heat Exchanger. This created realistic boundary conditions for the compressors (start-up and shut down).
The study has lead to a series of recommendations to change the control and process scheme, notably on the anti surge system.
The dynamic simulator of this process was built for Axens to serve for studies, validate operating and start-up procedures and for comercial/ demonstration purposes.
The process revolves around Plate and Fin Heat Exchangers. The cold boxes are simulated with the Indiss Multi Stream Heat Exchanger in which film coefficients, accumulations and flow rates are rigourously calculated from the process conditions and the geometry.
